The rules of Andal vastu are common to houses, shops and industries. However, following things should be noted while constructing a house, irrespective of the direction of street.

1. None of the house corners should break.
2. None of the house corners should extend.
3. Compound wall is a must and should form a square or rectangle.
4. Appropriate space should be left between compound wall and the building.
5. Compound walls should not be shared with the neighbor.
6. Flooring should not be inclined.
